Hearts of Mercy

For years, Kainda’s story was one of quiet struggle.Living in Majira, Chogoria Ward, she faced life’s harsh realities almost entirely on her own — a deserted mother raising three children under extremely difficult conditions. Despite living with epilepsy, she carried the weight of motherhood with courage, doing everything she could to keep hope alive for her family.

Her home was not just fragile it was a constant reminder of the challenges she endured each day. In a powerful moment of compassion and solidarity, Bongo foundation, together with its partners, handed over a fully completed home to Kainda a safe, dignified home with proper living house, lavatories and a bathroom. For the first time in a long time, Kainda and her children can rest in a place they can truly call home.

The transformation did not stop there.Recognizing her determination to rise above her circumstances, One of her daughter was also awarded a scholarship to St. Ursula Boarding Primary School opening the door to education, opportunity and a brighter future.

This is more than a house.
It is hope restored.
It is dignity regained.
It is a future rewritten.

Stories like Kainda’s remind us why we do what we do — because every life matters, and every person deserves a chance.
